Serving in India’s most densely populated state
JKPS is a well-regarded community development ministry based in Kolkata, West Bengal. Workers minister to the poor, establish community centres, provide literacy to children and train leaders to reach people groups across West Bengal. JKPS workers
are currently pursuing a variety of ministries among the following groups of people:
- Children: JKPS provides care to over 420 sponsor children and ministers to over 7,050 children in six north Indian states. Ministry to children has opened doors to help mothers, families and communities.
- Unreached Peoples: JKPS brings the good news of Jesus to those searching for hope and meaning, and staff nurture hundreds of new and growing faith communities. Training programs disciple and establish spiritual leaders for the growing church.
- Sex trade workers: The Mahima Aftercare Homes are licensed care facilities for minor-age girls rescued from the sex trade. The residents are provided with quality medical care, counselling, trauma therapy, education and vocational training. The homes are designed to prevent the re-trafficking of children back into the sex trade by restoring wholeness to their lives and aggressively pursuing justice in the form of convictions for perpetrators of sex-trafficking.
- Communities: JKPS holds medical camps, provides clean water, rund adult literacy classes, and teaches development methods in nine regions.
