I write to you with a heavy heart, bearing news of a deepening crisis unfolding in Myanmar.
On Friday, a devastating 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck near Mandalay, resulting in the loss of over 2,700 lives, injuring thousands, and leaving countless families without food and shelter. While hundreds remain unaccounted for amidst disrupted communication, these numbers may still be higher.

生霊塗炭的緬甸：
自從2021年，居民飽受了三年多的內戰摧殘，如今遭受了自然災禍的毁滅性打撃，禍不單行，雪上加霜。橋梁，道路，通訊的斷供崩壞。人心無望與惶恐，非筆墨所能盡訴。
A Nation in Turmoil:
Even before the earthquake, millions needed assistance. This natural disaster compounds the suffering of a nation already reeling from the aftermath of the 2021 military coup and the ensuing civil conflict that has continued to impact our work and the lives of many greatly.
The ongoing strife had already displaced millions, destroyed infrastructure, and left communities in a state of perpetual fear and uncertainty.

In Mandalay and surrounding regions, homes have been reduced to rubble, and survivors are seeking refuge wherever they can find space. The collapse of roads and bridges has severely hampered relief efforts, making delivering essential aid a daunting challenge.

With widespread devastation and as families face homelessness, the loss of their livelihoods, and their means of survival, rapid relief efforts are ongoing. In response to this crisis, I ask for your help to provide immediate assistance, including food, water, and temporary shelter. The scale of devastation requires a sustained and collective effort!

Our local partners are already on the ground, embedded in communities and mobilizing through churches and Christian networks to provide immediate relief—offering food, shelter, and spiritual support. Because they live and serve there, they can reach those in need quickly and effectively.
