This January, one of our Discovery Trip teams spent time visiting our ministry partners in India. During the trip, they had the opportunity to join with Mahima Care Homes in a day of fellowship and fun. Mahima Director, Smita Singh, has shared with us about the beautiful day they had together!

We all love to go for picnics during our holidays, especially during the winter season. A picnic brings about excitement, exhilaration and breaks the monotony of our lives. On 13th January 2017, all the staff and girls of Mahima Homes along with the guests from Partners International went to Prantik Resort, Howrah, for our annual picnic.

Prantik Resort, Howrah

The girls could not sleep the previous night thinking about the fun that they would be having the next day. They all got their best clothes ready so that they would not have to waste any time the next day. The journey by bus was great. We had traveled by bus many times, but on that day the drive down the road was different. The air was filled with fun and laughter and the girls sang songs and laughed all the way.

After having our breakfast the girls, staff, and guests were engaged in different outdoor activities. The girls, female staff, male staff and the friends from Partners International played the games in different groups. They also enjoyed the moment by playing sports like badminton and football. After lunch, the girls spend quality time by interacting with the guests and playing games with them. We spent a little more time enjoying the cool breeze in the park and then started our journey back to the city. It was a bit sad too, as this beautiful day had come to an end. But, while returning home we could not stop talking about the fun we had. Most of the staff was busy browsing through some of the nicest photographs and videos were taken by them. It was a wonderful picnic that we all thoroughly enjoyed, the memories of which will always be cherished by all. Anahita* shared “It was a long journey to reach the picnic spot. After reaching there, I felt very good. The whole Mahima family was present which made me very happy.” Shanta* added “Picnic means enjoyment, and I was able to enjoy a lot in this picnic. I liked all the games that we played.”
