The Partners International family is deeply saddened to inform you that Smita Singh, Director of the Mahima Homes in India, passed away.

Smita leaves behind a tremendous legacy of justice initiatives and a world-class Christian ministry. She was a global expert in rescuing trafficked girls. Smita dedicated her life to human trafficking awareness and helping survivors rediscover their sense of self-worth and identity in Christ—promoting healing and rehabilitation.

Smita sacrificially served those around her, especially the children at Mahima, who she loved deeply. Her display of Christ’s love enabled the children in her care to experience restoration.

For Partners International Canada, Smita was a devoted partner and warrior for justice. Most importantly, she was an incredible woman of faith and a dear friend.

Smita will be remembered for her dedication to revolutionary holistic programs and empowering survivors of human trafficking.

In the days and weeks ahead, we will share more information in honour and celebration of Smita’s life. Please join us in prayer for Smita’s family, our partner in India and the children mourning this immense loss.

”Brothers, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you will not grieve like the rest, who are without hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, we also believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in Him.” 1Thessalonians 4:13-14
