Sutapa Chatterjee

A flourishing ministry transforming lives

Sutapa, born and raised in Kolkata, is a trained counsellor. She worked with women and children who have experienced immense trauma in their lives. As a counsellor, she learned to actively listen to people, understand their problems, and help them to find solutions. But she felt that she needed to do more.

She now leads a group of homes that help rehabiliatate girls who have been rescued from the sex trade. Sutapa is deeply moved by the suffering of trafficked and exploited victims and has a great passion to help them. “When I see a complete transformation in the lives of the girls–forsaking former habits and embracing a new way of life–it brings me immense joy.”

Partnership Focus

A flourishing ministry transforming lives

Our partnership consists of several care homes that provide rehabilitation and reintegration programs for individuals rescued from the sex trade. Support at the homes includes medical care, legal aid, and counselling and facilitates healing, the creation of new lifestyle patterns, and prepares them to re-enter society. This ministry reduces the incidence of child trafficking and retrafficking in Kolkata brothels.
