Legacy Partners are making a holistic transformation in our world a part of their lasting impact.
By making a future gift to Partners International, you are helping to ensure that our work of building the church and transforming communities in the name of Jesus will continue on in to the future.
What is planned giving?
As the term suggests, planned giving is a type of giving that requires more forethought and planning than a regular donation of cash. In some cases planned gifts occur immediately, in other cases the gift happens decades in the future.
Ways to make a Legacy Gift
Planned gifts can occur immediately or at times, decades in the future. The following are different ways you can make a Legacy Gift to Partners International:
The most common Legacy Gift is done by making a bequest in your will. You can leave a specific amount or a percentage of your estate in your will to Partners International and receive a charitable tax receipt for the full amount.
Leaving a gift to Partners International in your will is simple. Talk it over with your family and loved ones, then speak to your lawyer about drafting or revisiting your will, or adding a codicil.
Be sure to inform us of your bequest and your wishes. It will give us the opportunity to thank you and discuss what you hope your gift will help to accomplish. We will always respect your privacy and confidentiality in these matters.

You can choose to make Partners International a beneficiary of a new or existing life insurance policy. This is a great way to make a substantial donation for a relatively low monthly cost and also receive a tax receipt.
A gift annuity is like a pension. When you donate a capital sum to Link Charity, Link Charity in turn guarantees you regular payments at an attractive rate for life.
A charitable gift annuity offers the unique ability to provide individuals or couples with a notable investment income stream while also providing a significant gift to Partners International’s work. A Charitable Gift Annuity allows individuals and couples with a higher than average investment income, to support a cause that is near and dear to their heart, while paying them back for life!

As the most highly taxed asset in your estate, it is worth considering making a donation to Partners International from your RRSP or RRIF. You can just name Partners International as a beneficiary right on their RRSP or RRIF. This would eliminate you even needing to change your will! Canadians can receive tax credits which can help to decrease overall estate taxes.
Making a gift of stocks, mutual funds or other marketable securities to Partners International eliminates all capital gains taxes. Speak with your financial advisor to see if this option is available to you.
A Donor Advised Fund allows the donor to set up an investment fund that makes regular gifts to your favourite charities for a set period of time – or generations to come! It is like a charitable bank account.
Our partners at Link Charity Canada make it possible for a donor to give a large amount now, and continue to maintain control over the gift for a number of years into the future. This is accomplished by giving the gift amount to Link Charity, then when you are ready to distribute you simply give Link your instructions.
Donor-Advised Funds are worth considering for those looking for a low-admin alternative to a family foundation.
