The word Kerygma is used in the New Testament and is the greek for “proclaim” or “preaching”.
Kerygma was started in 1997 by Jacob and Sheela Isaac from a vision they received to communicate God’s love to today’s urban populace, particularly the youth. In obedience to God’s call, they offered the space above their home to start the Coffee House, a hangout for young people in the city for several years. The Coffee House became a place where young people could unwind and just talk about life.
Their ministry has grown and expanded over the years to meet the needs they see first hand. From camps and youth events to training, counselling and a rehabilitation centre, Kerygma’s mission is to permeate the urban society with the Gospel of Christ using media and creative arts and to provide an environment for spiritual growth and personal vision.
