Grover Crosby, former President of Partners International, went to be with the Lord this past week. Grover has been part of the Partners family for nearly three decades and has left a legacy that will live on for years to come.
Grover Crosby served as President of Partners International from 1986-2001 and then continued as a volunteer with Partners for over a decade. For 25 years Grover Crosby advocated for national workers serving Jesus faithfully in challenging places. The hallmark of Grover’s ministry was an energetic passion for the vision of international ministry leaders. Grover was one of Canada’s foremost advocates for a new way of doing mission—one that engaged local leaders rather than sending Canadians cross-culturally.Grover took hundreds of Canadians overseas to see what God was doing through local leaders, and tirelessly encouraged churches across Canada to partner with these local missionaries. Partners International Canada would not be what it is today without Grover’s faithful, energetic leadership. We have received many meaningful tributes from around the world from leaders whose lives, and ministries were deeply touched by Grover.
“All I have in my mind and heart is gratefulness to the Lord for the life of Grover. There will be many thousands across the world that would be of the same opinion. Plus others that have already joined the angels in heaven to welcome Grover as he crossed into eternity to see face to face his Saviour, whom he loved so much.” – Carlos Calderón, PIUSA
“We have cried and celebrated, all together, emerged in an amazing mix of feelings.” – Marcio Garcia, Brazil
“Grover was a great servant of his Master and served Him well. His influence and encouragement on my life in the early years of my leadership will never be forgotten. He ran his race well and answered his call. May God keep us faithful as he was. Glory to God for his home going.” – Rev. David Umune, NigeriaWe will miss Grover, and celebrate that he is in heaven, and most certainly has heard the words from our Lord, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
